The north of Gran Canaria has the most rugged and steep landscapes on the island. Its coast is winding by impressive cliffs that stop the fury of the Atlantic. We will visit some of the most emblematic towns of the island. As we usually say, each corner is a world in itself.

Visit Platano Museum

The Rekompensa Banana Museum offers us the opportunity to learn about the history of this magical fruit. From its initial cultivation in Papua New Guinea to the current situation of the most consumed fruit in the world, the adventure of the banana is an exciting story in which Hindus, Romans, Arabs and Europeans appear throughout thousands of years of travel the tropical regions of the Globe.

Arucas

It offers an experience of sensations that begins as soon as you arrive in its historic center. The old town of Arucas has the denomination of historical-artistic interest. The Parish Church of San Juan Bautista is the architectural piece with the greatest presence and social value in the municipality. Heritage, culture and tradition will be a constant during your visit to this municipality.

Teror

Located in the northern region of the island of Gran Canaria, the town of Teror is one of the oldest inhabited nuclei of the seven Canary Islands. Founded from the appearance of the Virgin in 1481 and declared a Marian town at the end of the 16th century, Teror has a vast religious heritage that includes basilica, convents and houses of noble families. Calle Real de la Plaza has been the social and commercial epicenter of this town for five centuries.

Firgas

The historic quarter of Firgas is well worth strolling around to enjoy the town's many
nooks and crannies of tourist interest. We can visit the Paseo de Gran Canaria and Paseo de
Canarias, promenades right in the town centre following what was previously known as Calle
Real del Centro. The beauty of Firgas lies in visiting "the Balcony of the Atlantic", with the
loveliest of views out over the ocean, and of all of the north, east and west of Gran Canaria.

Puerto de las Nieves

The Puerto de Las Nieves (Las Nieves Port) is the coastal zone of the
town of Agaete. Nowadays it has become the main maritime connection for Gran Canaria
with Tenerife. This is a charming picturesque fishing village lying on the north coast of Gran
Canaria. It has the typical atmosphere and character of the Canary Islands, and striking cliffs.
The small beaches are impressive and, although they are stony, they have cold crystal-clear
water. The image of the Roque Partido, known popularly as "God's Finger", has now passed
into history.
