 ETNOEXPERIENCE CANARIAS

CULTURAL ROUTES: "TASTING THE NORTH OF GRAN CANARIA".

With this route we intend that those who visit us, discover the
north-northwest region of the island of Gran Canaria through its
gastronomy.
For this we will make visits directly to rum producers,
bananas, wine, coffee and tropical crops so that, in this way, it does not have to be
only taste our excellent gastronomic products, but also that
know firsthand all that lies behind this production
handcrafted by people with a knowledge of the inherited land.
from parents to children that forms an indisputable part of our culture as a
town.

ARUCAS: We will visit the historic centre of this noble city with visits to the spectacular Church of San Juan Bautista, the courtyard of a traditional 17th century Canarian house and the Municipal Botanical Park. It includes a guided tour with tasting of the famous Arehucas rum factory.

MOYA: Centuries ago this municipality was in the middle of the jungle of Doramas, the ancient laurel forest that covered the entire north of Gran Canaria ... Here we will visit a cheese factory where, among others, Gran Canaria Flower Cheese is still made, a true gastronomic jewel, made with cow's milk of the Canarian race. The cheese factory is located in the middle of a large banana plantation, so we will learn a lot about this product that is exported to the peninsula and that still today is a fundamental part of the Canarian economy.

AGAETE: At the end of a beautiful and quiet valley in the northwest of the island, surrounded by wonderful mountains, we will find a great plantation: among hundreds of tropical fruit trees we will see the vines and coffee plantations from where their wonderful wines and aromatic coffees come. There we will be delighted with a commented tasting of both products, accompanied by a snack with products from the island. We will also be able to taste the medicinal water of the Valley, as well as the seasonal fruit of this beautiful farm.
But in Gran Canaria we also have a great marine wealth and a great tradition of artisan fishing, so we propose to end our day enjoying a good barbecue of fresh fish from the area in one of the pleasant terraces of the famous family restaurants of Agaete Beach.
