Jatun Mama is an Ecuadorian musical collective that merges electronic music with the ancestral essence of Andean and Latin American folklore. Deeply inspired by indigenous traditions, sacred rituals, and the spiritual relationship between humanity and nature, the project creates immersive sonic experiences where organic instruments and contemporary electronic production coexist in harmony. Through hypnotic rhythms, atmospheric textures, ceremonial chants, native flutes, traditional percussion, and deep electronic grooves, Jatun Mama builds a sound that feels both ancestral and futuristic.

The name Jatun Mama, which in Kichwa can be interpreted as Great Mother, represents the groups connection to Pachamama, the living spirit of the earth and the source of life in Andean cosmology. This concept is at the heart of the projects artistic identity: honoring roots, preserving cultural memory, and transforming traditional sounds into a modern and universal language capable of connecting audiences from different cultures and generations.

Their music travels between downtempo, organic house, tribal electronica, ambient landscapes, and experimental fusion, always maintaining a strong folkloric identity. Jatun Mama incorporates native instruments and rhythms from Ecuador and the Andes, blending them with synthesizers, electronic beats, and live improvisation to create performances that transcend the idea of a conventional concert. Each presentation becomes a collective ritual where dance, spirituality, and emotional connection converge.
