CCC Creative Courses for Circus

Creative Courses for Circus is NEXOs training program. An intensive journey designed for artists and practitioners who are looking for new creative tools and a space to activate their relationship with the stage through the body, dramaturgy, composition and presence.

It is a training proposal composed of different modules and methodologies that coexist within a single itinerary. No apparatus is used: the focus is on circus creativity, on scenic tools, and on the possibility of opening new ways to think, build and develop ones own material.

In Creative Courses, we understand training as a place where creativity can be practiced, refined and redirected. We are interested in working with concrete tools, without separating thinking, body and stage, and in opening a space where each participant can continue building from what they already bring.

More than a sum of classes, the program proposes a shared journey where each module offers a specific perspective while also forming part of a common experience. We aim for participants to take away resources that can be applied to their own paths, whether they are just beginning a search or already developing materials, ideas or pieces.

In this edition, Creative Courses for Circus will bring together several modules led by invited artist-teachers, each with a particular approach to dramaturgy, the body, composition and scenic thinking. Together, they shape a diverse and complementary path, driven by a shared intention: to activate circus creativity through practice.

Who is it for?

Creative Courses for Circus is aimed at artists and practitioners from circus and other performing arts who are interested in incorporating new creative tools, strengthening their relationship with the stage, and continuing to develop their own resources.

It is designed for those who want to pause, experiment, organize ideas, open new possibilities, and take away concrete methodological material for future processes.

What does it offer?

  • An intensive training journey within the NEXO context
  • Six days of training, from Monday to Saturday, with 8 hours of daily work and a lunch break
  • Creative tools applicable to future scenic processes
  • Different methodologies gathered within a single itinerary
  • A space to work on body, dramaturgy, composition and presence
  • A shared context for training, exchange and practice
  • A process showing on Sunday at UMBRAL, open to the public

What kind of experience does it propose?

Creative Courses for Circus offers an immersive training experience where practice and reflection are intertwined. Each module activates a different approach, but all of them are part of a shared journey aimed at strengthening circus creativity and offering concrete tools to continue working beyond the encounter.

The focus is not on reaching a final result, but on opening up resources, questions and materials that can continue accompanying each participant in their artistic path.
