Description

Visit days: Tuesday and Friday

This Excursion will uncover the contrasts of this Continent in Miniature. Our first stop is to visit a town in which large landowners lived, while they made their fortune in sugar cane, after the Spanish conquest of the island. mansions. Our second stop will be at one of the small volcanoes found on the island: Caldera de los Marteles, standing at 1,380 metres above sea level. From there we drive on to the Pico de las Nieves (Peak of the Snows), the highest point on the island and from which you can see most of this small continent: the Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga monoliths, the Tejeda Crater and, weather permitting, Tenerife. We’ll drive down through an area known for its almond trees, We will have lunch in the second largest volcano on the island, Tirajana and at the same restaurant will be shown how Canarian Mojo Sauce is made. The last leg of the journey will be driving through the spectacular Fataga Ravine, stopping to visit that picturesque village with traditional homes. The last stop will be at the 500 metres-above-sea-level overlook from which we can see the Dunes of Maspalomas and the “Grand Canyon of Gran Canaria”. Return.
