Immerse yourself in history as you head over to the beautiful city-museum of Toledo, located 70 km outside of Madrid, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This ancient city houses impressive and beautiful buildings from almost all periods in history and styles. (Arabian, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque). It is also known as the "City of Three Cultures" for its peaceful coexistence for centuries of Christians, Muslims and Jews. During the 16th century, it was also the place of residence of the great painter El Greco, which has delivered the town an important legacy.
During the tour of Toledo, you will visit the Mosque of El Cristo de la Luz, a true reflection of Caliphate architecture and the inside of the Cathedral, which shows the stages of Gothic style in Spain and exhibits incredible works of art, among which some are several paintings of El Greco. Enter the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, one of the most beautiful monuments in the Jewish quarter, before learning the famous technique of damascening, the art of inlaying different metals into one another.
Before saying goodbye to Toledo, if you have chosen the option with lunch, you can enjoy a delicious lunch. The tourist lunch consists of vegetable stew, veal loin served with green beans and chips, vanilla ice cream and fruit salad. The gastronomic lunch will allow you to taste appetizers and Castilian tapas, a shoulder of roasted lamb with sautéed vegetables and truffle cake served with ice cream.
On the way back to Madrid there will be a brief a stop in Bargas, home to the "Finca Loranque" where we will visit its wine cellars and where you will get the chance to try some of their wines.
