World-renowned Scottish director Sir David McVicar brings his visionary storytelling to bear on Puccini’s epic, final opera in this, its centenary year. Reuniting with the creative team behind 2023’s award-winning Il trittico, McVicar confronts the darkness of the work head on, neither flinching from Turandot’s trauma nor excusing Prince Calaf’s recklessness. Instead, he uncovers a deeply moving tale of two lost souls trapped between fear and desire, until compassion and courage change everything.
