Ten million years in the making, the Hams Caves were worth the wait. More than just a cool place to escape Majorca's summer heat, this system boasts three caverns – each offering a different visual experience. Located just outside Porto Cristo in the east of the island, the Hams Caves make for an ideal family outing.
Despite their millennial age, the Coves del Hams, as they are known locally, were only discovered in 1905. Visit the Round Cave, a vast open cavern that's straight out of Jurassic Park. It has a botanical garden and its microclimate attracts many species of birds.
Then there's the Classic Cave. Made up of 12 galleries and an underground lake, which is where the Sea of Venice musical show is presented. And there's the Blue Cave, which all TUI guests visit. State-of-the-art lighting has brought it to life, and there's an auditorium, where you can watch the Discovering the Past documentary. Insta-perfect spots include ‘Samson's Pillars' and the ‘Pit of Hell'.
