Stepping into Mallorca’s bustling capital, Palma, feels like walking onto the set of your favorite fairytale. With history etched into every cobblestone, plazas abuzz with life, and the iconic cathedral overlooking the waterfront, the city forms the perfect backdrop for a marathon. And on the October 20, 2024, the TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca is set to be a gold medalist. Alex, a first-time marathon runner from the previous year, says, ‘The TUI Palma Marathon is more than just a race; it’s a chance to be part of something that really celebrates and cares for this charming city. My first marathon here wasn't just about the distance; it was about the people, the food, and the views on every turn’. Choose between the full or half marathon experience, or a shorter 9km run, all with a host of other activities to take part in.
What really makes people from across the globe lace up their sneakers for the marathon goes beyond race day. The day before the race, there's a breakfast run and a pasta party, giving you the chance to load up on carbs and have fun. There’s also an expo, where you’ll not just pick up your race number – you can geek out on the latest running gear and make new friends who are just as excited about hitting the pavement. And, after the big race, the fun doesn’t just end there – there’s even a huge afterparty to look forward to.
This year, alongside TUI and Kumulus, the event’s sponsors and organizers, the marathon's taking a big leap towards sustainability and leaving no trace behind. There will be an aim to cut down on non-recyclable waste before, during, and after the race, urging everyone to bring refillable bottles and use the numerous water stations dotted around the city, and a conscious effort to team up with locals to keep things green. Because after all, you’ll be running in one of the most beautiful places in the world; let's help to keep it that way.
