In this walking tour you'll discover the history and importance of the Guadalquivir river as well as the historical suburb of Seville, Triana. You'll learn about the history, architecture, folklore and gastronomy of this emblematic area.
The first church built after the Christian conquest, the splendour of Seville as Port of America and the dark times of the Inquisition are some of the topics you'll explore during this historical walk. The small size group allows you to ask your questions freely.
Since the ancient times Triana has been home of many craft guilds that have survived until today. The Triana neighborhood is the greatest example of the folklore aspect of the city. You'll focus on this cosmopolitan suburb, immerse into the Andalusian gypsy culture and get to know the origins of flamenco which for many is considered its birthplace. Home of bullfighters, flamenco artists, sailors and craftsmen Triana is a city in itself, looking across the river to Seville.
After about a 1.5 hour of the walking tour, you'll finish by the river shore, where many Flamenco venues are located. Triana has a lot to offer and you'll get to discover them in the best way!
Kindly meet your guide at the base of Torre del Oro, just by the river bank near the touristic cruise ticket office
